If clean water is essential to life, the converse is true as well. Unclean water, whether flowing along the surface, or stored underground, is the world's biggest health and environmental risk, and continues to threaten both quality of life and public health everywhere. In the United States, Federal, state, and local legislation has provided a reactive framework with which to address and mitigate "unclean water". HMD personnel have utilized 40 years of imagination, training, and experience to sift through the resulting alphabet soup of regulations (e.g. CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, CWA, ESA, NEPA, CAA, CEQA, etc) to arrive at solutions garnering the most support from clients, regulators, special interest groups, and the public. HMD personnel have accomplished these solutions by working individually, with teams of professionals, or managing teams of professionals on projects throughout the United States.
